PODCAST: Professor John McCafferty UCD on Fr. Nicholas Archbold 1588-1650

His paper examines two manuscripts by Fr. Nicholas Archbold OSFC (b. 1588/89, d. 1650) a Capuchin priest from Shankill, County Dublin.

Transcripts of Archbold’s Evangelicall fruict of the Seraphical Franciscan Order and a Historie of the Capuchins in Ireland are held in the Irish Capuchin Archives.

Professor McCafferty is in the process of editing Fr. Archbold’s manuscripts and he will be publishing them through the auspices of the Irish Manuscripts Commission (IMC).
