On Friday, December the 1st, the friars of the Dublin houses, in the presence of our Provincial Minister Br. Adrian Curran, gathered with a group of relations of Blessed Solanus Casey to celebrate a Mass of thanksgiving for his recent beatification. Many of his relatives had been present in Detroit for the occasion and spoke of the shared joy at discovering over 300 family members, many of whom were present. The large number is probably explained by the fact that Solanus was one of 16 children! Now as we celebrate Solanus as a brother Capuchin and a member of the great heavenly family of saints his earthly families of both the Order he joined and the relatives he came from join in thanking God for the favours granted to him in his life and to seek his intercession for the future.
