Cutting of our brothers Seán Kelly and Philip Baxter from the Irish Times on Monday as they prepared to lead an Ecumenical Service of Remembrance for the Leaders of the 1916 Rising at Kilmainham Jail on Sunday last. The Capuchins had been invited to lead the celebration as our brothers had a central role in the negotiation of peace in 1916 and had ministered to the leaders before their execution. As part of the celebration extracts from an account by Fr. Columbus Murphy of the Church St. Community at the time was read and prayers were offered for all involved.
