Blessings on the feast of Our Lady of Knock

Wednesday, 17 August 2016

oday we mark the feast of Our Lady of Knock.

An extraordinary apparition in many ways because of it’s silent nature. A true sign of God’s presence felt in the ‘gentle breeze’. St Francis of Assisi had a special love for Our Lady. He was greatly inspired by her ‘yes’. Not a once off yes but a lifelong committment to faithful service.

As Capuchins we seek Mary’s guidance daily as we strive to come to know and serve her Son. If you are discerning a vocation to religious life, ask Mary to guide you and what better day to begin that dialogue, than today.

We pray today that Our Lady of Knock will speak to the silent parts of our experience so that we may hear the voice and call of her Son to ‘come follow me’.
