Capuchins at World Meeting of Families 2018

We are delighted to have an active presence at the WMOF2018 in the RDS this week. Three of our brothers are speakers at the event and we have a dedicated vocations stand in exhibition hall 1 (Stand 17). At our vocations stand we will have the privilege of offering blessings with the relics of St Pio, St Leopold Mandic and Blessed Solanus Casey at

Brother Sean Donohoe (Co-Director of the Capuchin Day Centre for Homeless People) is a panellist on Wednesday 22nd (Hall 3, 10.00 – 11.00) discussing the topic ‘No Room at the Inn: A Christian Response to Homelessness’.

On Friday 24th Brother Richard Hendrick (Guardian of Arts Friary, Co Donegal) is a panellist at 11.30 in Hall 3. Brother Richard will join in the discussion on ‘The family the prays together: Finding time for prayer in a digital age’.

Brother Martin Bennett (Vocations Promotor & Coordinator of Vocations Ministry / Chaplain to St Francis College Rochestown) will facilitate a listening exercise on behalf of the Irish Bishops Conference on Thursday at 12pm in the Teen Space. This listening exercise is in preparation for the Synod on Youth, Faith and Vocation Discernment that takes place in Rome in October. Br Martin will also speak on DOCAT as a tool for effective evangelisation in the YOUCAT Marquee at 12.00pm on Friday.

If you are in the RDS, please come along to see us. In addition to this the Irish Capuchins are also delighted to welcome Pope Francis to our Day Centre for Homeless People on Saturday afternoon. The visit will be covered live by RTE television.

We will keep our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram channels updated over the week from the RDS, Croke Park and the Phoenix Park.

Let us pray together for the success of the Congress and the Holy Father’s visit.
