On behalf of the Capuchin Franciscans, I want to congratulate Bishop Dermot Farrell who takes over from Diarmuid Martin as Archbishop of Dublin.
Bishop Dermot was ordained Bishop of Ossory in 2018 and has shown great leadership and pastoral care to the priests and laity in Ossory Diocese during these last two years. He has been a wonderful support to us Capuchins in Kilkenny where we serve in the Cathedral parish. We will keep Archbishop Dermot in our prayers as he begins this new chapter in his priestly vocation.
We also express our sincere gratitude to Archbishop Diarmuid Martin for all his hard work and dedication to the Archdiocese and in particular, his constant affirmation and encouragement to the Capuchin run parishes of Priorswood and Halston Street. We wish him a very happy retirement and assurance of our prayers.
