Death notice and arrangements of Br Paul Tapley OFM Cap:

Fr. Paul Tapley OFM Cap. (Capuchin Friary, Church Street, Dublin 7 and late of Drimnagh, Dublin 12) passed away on 12th August 2023 in the loving care of the staff at The Sacred Heart Residence, Sybil Hill. Predeceased by his parents Joseph and Elizabeth Tapley and brothers Joseph and Noel. Deeply regretted by his Capuchin Confrères, brothers Robert, Michael, Brian and Kieron, sister Lillie (Hughes), sisters-in-law Frances, Gwen, Ena, Nancy, Hilary and Mary (predeceased by his brother-in-law Richard), nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

During his long capuchin life and among many pastoral appointments our brother Paul spent time as a missionary in both Africa and South Korea. He also worked in formation of our postulants and students in Carlow and Raheny, and in parish ministry in Gurranabraher in Cork. Known for his gentle kindness to all who encountered him and for his love of singing and music he was a warm fraternal presence in every community he was part of

Reposing at Bourke’s Funeral Home, 71 Queen Street, Dublin 7 from 3pm Thursday afternoon until removal to the Church of St. Mary of the Angels, Church Street arriving for 5pm Reception Prayers. The Requiem Mass for Fr. Paul will take place at 11am Friday morning with burial after in St. Fintan’s Cemetery, Sutton.
