This evening we received the remains of Brother Kevin back to St Mary of the Angels, Capuchin Friary Church Street.
In his words this evening, Capuchin Provincial Minister, Br Richard Hendrick, stressed that for Brother Kevin, 'Brother' wasn't merely a title but rather a mission. Brother Kevin lived this Capuchin mission to the best of his ability in all he did. He was indeed a man of the people but more fundamentally, he was a man of deep prayer who spent long hours each day deep in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament. His understanding of his own humanity allowed him to connect deeply with the human experience of others, no matter what that experience might be. As a result, he had the ability to see whoever stood before him as brother or sister.
Br Kevin will lie in repose tomorrow (Friday, 4th of July) from 8.30am ending with solemn vespers at 6pm. Requiem Mass takes place on Saturday morning at 11am followed by burial to the Capuchin plot in Dardistown Cemetery. The Mass will be livestreamed on www.memoriallane.ie/livestream ...
