With great sadness we announce the death of our Capuchin confrere, Br. Padráig O'Cuill OFM Cap. Br Padráig joined the Capuchin Order in 1957 and was ordained to the Priesthood in 1967. During his years as a Capuchin Friar, Padráig ministered as an Irish language teacher, hospital chaplain and chaplain to Dublin Port and Docks. For many years he served as the Archivist for the Irish Capuchin Province.

Br. Padráig died peacefully in Beaumont Hospital this morning (04/02/2026) following a short illness. Padráig was a kind, helpful and cheerful man who often caused howls of laughter with his quick wit and razor sharp sense of humour. He will be very much missed in the Capuchin Friary Raheny and beyond.

Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.

And a very special thanks to the donors who make it all possible. Feast of St Francis

Yesterday the Feast of St Francis was celebrated around the world. Even after almost 800 years, this man continues to ignite imaginations and stir the spirits of all who come into contact with him. His approach to serving the poor in humility and faith was both counter-cultural and revolutionary. We pray that the example…
